12 North -- Fitchburg
Fitchburg/Westminster town line. State maintenance resumes. While route 12 is a "state highway" through Fitchburg, like most secondary routes local authorities are responsible for maintenance through much of the town.

Approaching the Northern terminus of Mass 140. In the last year the intersection has been realigned to allow through traffic to flow South onto 140. Previously, the intersection allowed through traffic to stay on 12 or turn right onto 140.

Short cut to U.S. 202 North. This is a rare wooden US shield with a white border. I believe it is the only one still posted in the state.

Hobby horse statue just north of the junction with U.S. 202. Winchendon's is nicknamed "Toy Town" for its toy making industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Northern terminus at N.H. 12, Fitzwilliam, N.H. This sign is unusual because it includes the Massachusetts state seal on the side of the sign announcing entry to New Hampshire.
